Rain or Snow: Snow… no school.
TV or radio? The radio sucks. I’d pick most thing over the radio. Well, maybe not a chasity belt. Those things can be itchy.
TV or reading? Reading; it’s portable.
Wool or Cotton: Cotton wool. “You could stay here/ make your home here/ hide away here/ I could wrap you up in cotton wool…” Sorry. Cotton.

Wow, Animazement was so much fun! Of course it was crawling with nasty, scary, dorky losers, but you have to get past all of that. Ok, that can be difficult, I understand, but once you it was a blast. I one went to one panal outside Cosplay and the Music Video Contest (you almost have to go to those), spending many hours parked in the video room. Lot's of good stuff to see. I was very proud of myself, too... I watched 9 episodes of Lodoss War with a fever before going to bed at four a.m. I think that was a feat. And yeah, I was sick Friday, couldn't talk Saturday, but I think I'm better now.
The dance was the best, wasn't it Siavash? We all hooked up with a group of guys from Millbrook who were *awesome* dancers and dances from 12 until 3 (at night, of course!) And they were cute, too! Really, it was so much fun. At least 100 times better then prom. We danced our asses off... seriously, I no longer have a butt. It's gone. *tear* Siavash discovered that he loves dancing and Jessie looked like a school girl gone wild... in a good way. And me? Well, I got my groove on, as they say. Hehe...
Lin, you have all of Yu Yu Hakusho, don't you? Did you tell me that it goes downhill after the first few eps, or am I remembering that wrong? I got WeiB Kruez (Imagine that character is right) and have watched it already. Siavash, you will want to borrow it from me, I promise. You'll like it. Got SMJ too, but I haven't watched it yet.
Lots of other stuff happened, but I'm too tired to get into it all here... so... sleepy
My point: It was fun. You should go next year. All of you.

If you guys want to see some pics from school, I updated my webpage. Look in the photo and the pals sections.
Go there to see the best picture of Leigh that exists, as well as Jessie looking just beautiful. And thanks for taking some other great picture, Leigh! You're the man.

ME--THE BORING STUFF
Full Name: nerri yamamoto
What does your name mean? nerri has no meaning ... let's not get into the whole "well you should make up a meaning for your name!" discussion, and yamamoto means "of the mountains"

How would you describe your fashion sense? depends on the day, really, from the rattiest sweats i own to bra and underwear around the house (when i'm alone and the shades are pulled you freaks, don't bring the cameras!) but usually just something cute and easy to do stuff in (no, not like that you perves)

ABOUT THE OPPOSITE SEX
Honestly, what do you notice first? i'd have to say that i look at whether or not they're attractive ... but i have a rather skewed sense of what's attractive and what's not. after all, i think my history teacher's a cutie and most people give me a very odd look and edge away from me when i tell them so *lol* oftentimes though, what really catches my attention is someone who's funny (hell, you can hear them or the people they're entertaining from a mile away) because they've distracted me and then kept my attention
What's the nicest thing you find about the opposite sex? um ... digging into their minds and figuring out how they work and realizing completely different sides to their personalities (like how they really can be sweet, and are willing to be sappy around you ... although there are those guys that just can't give up that damned macho act)
Thing you hate most about them? brickheadedness, obsession w/ certain parts of the female body instead of the overall package, for liking the typically fair haired beauties

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? one thing? geez, that's hard, there are so many ... possibly to stop being so damned selfish all the time, but that's fun, so i'll just have to stick w/ being more open/extroverted/friendly
People say you're: cute (does *everyone* think i look like an anime character??), funny (um, coz i'm so stupid or something?), small/tiny (thanks lin lin, you're probably the one that points that out the most often!)

This little tidbit heard in the hallway of our lovely school: "How you gonna use "shit" and "Lord" in the same sentence?"
My answer? Very carefully.
And something else! I finished my art project (you know, the one of the dancers I have been working on forever) and sohere it is. However, since this link seems to be being a bitch: http://luolian.bravepages.com/dance.jpg

First off: I passed my ballet exam! That means that I get to move up to the next level, which, for me at least, puts me as high as one can go. This is a *very* good thing, especially since I seem to be the only person in my class who moved up. I do feel bad for them, seeing as I know how hard a couple of them worked, but I can’t help but feel oh-so-happy for me! You should be happy for me too!
Also, it's bring-a-friend-to-dance week, and guess what we had today? Boys!!!!!! Not just these guys, but straight guys that dance in general are seriously the hottest guys on the planet. *swoon* Not only that, but they are just...so...cool. And really, these guys could get any girl that dances and dancers tend to be an attractive segment of the female population (no, I'm referring to myself here; y'all know I have no self esteem). I swear, if more guys understood this concept, more would dance. And the guys that came today were awesome! While lacking in the technical training aspect, they could do hip hop, house, break dancing, etc. They were so cool!
So if anybody wants to come to class with me on Thursday...

No posts in 24 hours? For shame...
Hell, I've got an English project due tomorrow and I'm posting.
Of course, my online activity is directly proportional to the presence of a major assignment due the next day... Hmm...

Ok, it's official- I'm am magical. How do I know this? Well, I put my foot through a glass door without a single scrape. Yes, I repeat: I put my foot through a glass door without a single scrape. How did I pull off this magical feat (haha, feet)? Well, I was bringing in my dinner dishes from outside and I had my hands full, so instead of putting my plate and stuff down and then shutting the door, I just pushed the door shut with my foot. And while I did succeed in closing the door, I also managed to send my foot through the bottom left panel of the French door. So yay... I'm magical. Too bad I couldn't get the glass shards to clean themselves up...
Oh and Peter, Kirsten Dunst was also featured in a very recent Vanity Fair, but you can't have my copy. Sorry. Also, maybe I'm just a weirdo, but I wish I could have been there for your singing.

so i finally went to see spiderman today ... don't flame me *too* terribly, but i didn't think it was that great. the plot was good and i loved the action, but the only romantic scenes i liked in that whole movie that i didn't find cheesy and just *weird* were a) when mj kisses spiderman and he's upside down ... that was just freakin' adorable, i loved it and b) when peter's telling mj what he "told spiderman" when he asked him about mj, coz that was the sweetest thing ever too. but other than that, i didn't think they were all that well scripted and it some of the stuff they said and some of the plots were things that were terribly overused. i mean, character dating best friend's love of like a lifetime? how many times has that one been pulled? and i really didn't like the end. it left it waaay too open for a sequel.
oh, and peter, you're the one w/ the kirsten dunst obsession right? go buy the june issue of seventeen and rip out all the pictures of her. she was the featured actress of the month. or you could just have mine, i guess, it's not like i need it *lol*
anyway, i'm tired, my knee hurts and is growing a second lump on it (omg, you'll just have to ask me about how i'm the biggest klutz alive! because i don't really feel like explaining it) and i'm pissed as hell, but oh well. i'm going to try to make the voices in my head shut up so i can go to bed. night all.

Yeah, I agree that the test was not too bad. My one question is just what the crap are the Maryland Toleration Acts? They asked two questions about the thing and I have not idea what they are. The thing I liked was that if you had an idea of what the item in question was *about*, it generally got you the answer. Just being able to place it in period and context was at least 75% of the answer.
I am throughly greatful its all over though. My mom let me skip and I went home to sleep... and I dreamed I still has essays to finish but was napping through the test. Grrr...
Siavash, the teachers do have a list to see if you are taking the exam or not, so don't think you are so slick. But yeah, I realize that they probably won't check.
I have a whole weekend of batiking ahead of me, but this is actually a good thing because it should be fairly relaxing. I'm under no pressure to finish it because I still have a week and a half; that's a long time for a final project. So if anyone wants to save me from my confinement, just call me and we'll do something.

I know I'm pointing out the obvious, but the school board's ruling has no effect on any of us and it never will. Between our parents and the internet, everyone here already knows or knows how to find out anything that could possibly be covered in a sex-ed class. Even when (or if) we have kids, we will all be responsible parents who will tell our kids what they need to know. And as bad as it sounds, the plight of the ill-informed "redneck" just isn't calling to me. Basically, I don't care enough about the stupid to fight with y'all about it. But, I do agree with Lin and all of the people who, well, also agree with her.
omg, omg, omg *screams and rips hair out* i think i'm going to cry. why???? ugggh, ok, so i ranted and ranted for like an hour about how sex-ed is nothing like balancing your checkbook or cooking or pumping gas (which, by the way, most schools do have courses offered for all three ... maybe not pumping gas, but you get my drift), and nooo, it got freakin' deleted!!! ok, ok *breathes, or attempts to anyway* .... omg, omg, i think i'm going to have to go cry now... rant later.

seeing as i agree all too well with lin and leigh, i won't beat the already dead horse into an unrecognizable pulp. i was going to post something earlier, but passing out gained precedence and when i finally got back around to checking on the blog again, leigh had already beaten me to it. damn you, leigh =) oh well, i'll wait for the flaming replies that i know are forthcoming, and have a field day with those. i think this is too much fun to possibly be healthy ...
Well, somebody's feeling contradictory today.
:)
Admittedly (and disappointingly), Pete, your color thingie was rather inaccurate. At least, as far as I know you. Still, something like "wearing your heart on your sleeve" is something one would notice, and it's clear that your sleeve is pretty unhearted.
But I must disagree with you strenuously on the sex ed issue. Sure, the parents' position isn't hard to understand: sex is bad (and possibly deadly), and if we entrust the teaching of it to the schools, not only are we failing in our duty as parents by surrendering this responsibility to the government, but they'll be taught some politically-correct gay-is-okay premarital-sex-is-okay abortion-is-okay leftist mumbo jumbo. A slight exaggeration, but honestly, a lot of this stuff is all smushed together in some people's minds. And, of course, there's the religion issue.
Pete, I think you went a little too far with "I don't feel it's right for you to criticize them . . . Any contradiction between what a child knows of religion and of their parents, and what they are taught in schools, cannot end well." To address the first part: Anti-sex-ed lobbyists have the right to hold whatever views they wish. Indeed, we all do. Still, I think everyone can agree that there are certain viewpoints that we shouldn't let air unopposed. If an opinion is misinformed, inaccurate, offensive, and likely harmful to others' health (the typical abstinence-only education plan is all of these), then its holders have the right to hold it, but its hearers have a moral obligation to object.
As for the second part (parental/school conflicts), you're again reaching. Schools have no obligation to ensure that they never contradict the teachings of parents or religions. Sure, a reasonable degree of sensitivity is encouraged, but if you're a member of the religion that requires you to dress like the Michelin Tire Man [see here], your textbooks can still contain pictures of un-costumed people. If your parents teach you that evolution is a bunch of hooey and that God created everything exactly as it is, your Biology teacher can still demonstrate and teach evolutionary theory. Sure, all these contradictions will probably cause some cognitive dissonance, but that's one of the important skills that you should learn in school: sorting out and judging contradictory opinions. If not in school, when will you learn to do this?
Besides, if you can't understand the message "sex is a potentially very harmful act. Wearing a condom can somewhat decrease this risk" and perceive it as "undermining" itself, then you'll probably have some trouble later on anyway, so you might as well learn to use a condom.
And that's all I can type for now; it's late. For AP week, it's late.

You are the sort of person that needs a peaceful environment. You seek release from stress and freedom from conflicts and disagreements, of which you seem to have had more than your fair share. But you are taking pains to control the situation by proceeding cautiously and you are right in doing so as you are a very sensitive person.
You are totally dissatisfied with your present situation. Matters are not going right for you and you are seeking a means of escape. Your mental state of mind necessitates that you need to change your thinking patterns. Remember, if one particular modus operandi doesn't seem to work, then try something different.
It is hard for you to accept that your needs and desires are misunderstood by almost everyone within your sphere of influence and there is no one to rely on. Your pent-up emotions and inherent egocentricity make you quick to take offence, but as matters stand you realise that you'll have to make the best of things as they are.
You pretend that you are a carefree individual and that nothing really bothers you - that you are so self-sufficient that whatever problems beset you they simply flow off you as water flows off a ducks back. You are experiencing considerable stress, trying to conceal yourself from the rest of the world. In actual fact - deep down, you are not at all happy. You feel lonely and you need someone with whom you can 'Let your hair down' and share your hopes, dreams and high standards. You are imposing unnecessary self restraint on yourself. You would like to demonstrate the unique quality of your character to all and sundry.
Since in the recent past all of your hopes and aspirations have been denied you, you are now convinced that the future will hold nothing but anxiety so therefore 'why bother?' You would love to get away from it all, to escape from the trials and tribulations of this mundane existence and fall into a peaceful and harmonious relationship, which will protect you from the lack of appreciation and give you the chance to start afresh.
I was actually going to write a long entry about this exact thing.
Although, in the interest of honesty, a lot of the things in Lauren's description matched me pretty well, so it was vaguely reminiscent of that horoscope "You present a nice face to the world, but there's something uncomfortable beneath. I see a conflict approaching. Now might be a time to try new things" vagueness that works for everybody. Still, some parts of hers don't fit me, I think, and I still think this thing is remarkably accurate.
At any rate, reading a description like this, however wildly inaccurate, makes you think about how it applies to you. It highlights certain parts of yourself, parts that you may not have been paying attention to. And discovering more of yourself is always good.
So thanks for the link, Lauren.

Damn, Linda; I thought I was the only one with a horrible hankerin’ for the males on this blog...
You wanna see something scary? This is scary. It's that thing where you pick 8 colors in the order that suits you best and it tells you about yourself. This is what it came up with for me, and I have to say it's pretty accurate, especially at this point in my life (that would be, one in which I'm not taking my Prozac):
You are in a state of constant expectation and want interesting and exciting things to happen to you. But in fact, you are a 'Walter Mitty' at times - a dreamer - over-imaginative and often given to fantasy or day-dreaming. There is nothing wrong in 'dreaming' - how boring life would be if one just followed the doctrines of everyday life - but one must not continue leading a life of continuous fantasy. You need to face reality in spite of all its possible shortcomings.
You are very self-sufficient and methodical. You presume to know where you are going but need to find a person who will recognize the way you are, not be too demanding and who is, as they say in Italy, 'Simpatico'.
Everything seems to have gone wrong and the situation at this time is such that you are not quite sure which way to turn. So it would appear that you are 'holding back', re-consolidating your position and relinquishing all fun and games for the time being.
You are holding back. You need to find friends in whom you can trust and once they have proved themselves beyond all possible doubt you will be prepared to give them your all. The existing situation is not of your liking - you have an unsatisfied need for mental stimulation with others whose standards are as high as your own. Trying to control your instincts the way you do restricts your ability to open up to others and the way you feel at this time is suggestive of 'total surrender'. This is not to your liking as you consider such thoughts as weaknesses that need to be overcome. You feel that only by control, controlling your innermost thoughts, are you able to maintain your air of superiority. You want to be admired for yourself alone and not for what you can do or for what you may have done. In essence 'you need to be needed' and at the same time 'you need to need'.
You are greatly impressed by individuality and have interest in people who have outstanding qualities. You try to imitate those people that you admire and their characteristics, hoping that you will be able to display similar qualities in your own personality.
This is so me. It's frightening because, well, it says nothing good about me, yet nails a great many of my personality problems with uncanny ease. Let's take the last two sentences in the second to last paragraph. Hell, let's look at that whole paragraph. This plays into my "Thou shalt not inflict yourself on others" philosophy. That is, one has very few people in life that they are allowed to dump themselves on. Inflicting yourself on someone else is defined as the following: making others adopt your problems as if they were their own, making others feel obligated to spend time with you even though they would rather not, fishing for compliments and expecting others to check up on you, think about you in their free time or otherwise include you in their life. You can always turn to your family because that is just how it is (they're family!), but otherwise it's a privilege you have to earn. It is just the inherent right of others to choose not to include you in their life. Sorry. You slowly earn this right by making friends and bonding with others outside your family circle and as an individual relationship grows closer, you gain more of a right do you have to inflict yourself on that person.
That would be, the amount of yourself you may inflict on others is directly proportional to how close y'all's bond is.
This is always how I have felt. I expect strangers and classmates I don't know to keep to themselves and it bothers me when they don't and I try to return the favor. I try to support my friends as much as I can, but try to be cautious about making sure I'm not overstepping my boundaries. This is where my fear of rejecting comes from. I don't have the inherent belief that I am the greatest and I think people have the right to reject me; the combination of these two ideas is that it seems reasonable that I could be rejected at any time for almost any reason.
I want people to like me, but I just can't force them to. Hell, I can't even make them feel bad about it without being a bitch.
And so this is why I have decided I am not going to pursue Steve anymore. I don't want to inflict myself on him and sense I am 99.9% sure he doesn't feel the same way about me, I'm not going to push it. It's not my right to make him deal with how I feel about him. To do so would not only put him in an uncomfortable position, but would damage our friendship, which I am grateful for every day.
I could make it a win/lose situation if I let it go (yeah, I would be the loser here and Steve no worse for the wear) or a lose/lose situation if I say anything and neither of us would get anything out of it. I am totally screwed either way and since I am not a spiteful person, I'm not going to involve Steve if I don't have to.
And that's all I have to say about that.

can i one up you both?? i think this is a "who's the most pitiful" contest ... but yeah, here goes: i think i've "re-liked" just about every guy i've ever had any semblance of a relationship w/. sick, yes, i know. but i think it's my inherent greediness and my need to possess anything/anyone i don't have, and to subject them to my mood swings and my freakiness and still have them stick around and adore me. screwed up? omg, that doesn't even *begin* to describe it, but oh well right? *shrugs* it's bad enough having to see one of my exes *every single freaking day* ... yeah, bad, bad, we will *not* go down that road ...
Here's some calm and happy music for everyone and their superfluous stress:
Gabriel
It's not really an mp3, but I figured out somehow to save it on my comp rather then just saving the link. I dunno... it was strange.

Leigh, honestly, I saw the puppy and started crying. That poor, poor little puppy! Who did such a mean thing to that cute, cute little puppy? ...Why, Linda! How could you have?! *tear*
Lin, as for your irritation with Mr. Sears, well... no comment.
Speaking of ex-boyfriends, I actually had a normal, non-emotional conversation with Tomás yesterday. It was a bit slow, as we still had some trouble talking to the other, but it wasn't *bad*. I'm still blocking him on AIM because he always wants to talk and we have nothing to say, so I feel bad about it, but it reduces my stress that way. I don't know, maybe that's still a mean thing to do... Besides, he can find me on MSN if I choose to be on.
I hope he doesn't find this blog, but if he does, whatever.

lol, i almost hope it'll taper off ... i log on to see that like 30 different posts are up and i'm like holding my head trying not to cry. but on the bright side, it's definitely keeping me entertained ... i'm back at school, so i'll have plenty of free time to whine. which reminds me, i've got tons of hw due tomorrow at 8am that i should *probably* start on ...
MR did *not* bomb, especially if you take into account the fact that it's an Aussie film and did better there then it did here. Sure, it made $60 million domestically, but that's only in America and DVD sales have actually surpassed that amount. So suck it.
And BTW, Linda, you are supposed to defend Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and Love always, not any of this "win/lose situation" shit. The winners win, always and the only people losing here suck ass.

*chokes*
Peter! Moulin Rouge did *not* fail. The thing with MR is that you either love it or you hate it. I've seen critics put it as the best movie of the year and as the worst, but I'm sure those people who thought it was the worst are horrible, stupid, boring, mean and ugly beings and should be shot. It's not like it's just a chick flick; both my dad and bro loved it, along with Josh (Hostetter) and Mr. Patnaud. And Leigh, it may not be the best at 3 in the morning, but watch it from the beginning at give it another chance. You just can't come in at the tango scene and expect it to make any sense.

Also, I am disappointed in everyone for misspelling/mispunctuating "Spider-Man." Especially you, Peter. You're a guy.
ewan macgregor???? *passes out* and geez, remus makes me hyperventilate as it is, and that's only from my mental image of him. it's a good thing they're getting someone abso-freakin-lutely gorgeous to play him, but i think i'm going to have a hard time breathing throughout that movie ... and peter, your realize that no matter how much you tell me that i'm a fangirl, i'm not going to stop this right? and moulin rouge rocks!! so yeah, that's about all ... i gotta go eat and then go back to winston =p later all.
No way!! Ewan McGregor...in Harry Potter?!? *faints*
And yes, you so can come! Assuming it happens, of course.

Or the Sling of Keeze...
The hills are alive... with the sound of music
Ok, I have an idea, and while I admit it's one that probably won't work, let's pretend it will.
Wednesday- APUSH study group after school at someone's house, a library, bookstore, whatever
Thursday- same thing
Friday- Moulin Rouge party at my house!!
Ok, so I threw that last part in for the hell of it, but seriously, I like the idea of a study group... Only I don't give a crap about accommodating all y'all Cary people, so maybe I should take it up with the people that live near me. *makes mental note*

Well, I thought I knew, but seeing how you treated Leigh just then... well, it just raises some questions.
Robot robot robot!
The links look stupid in the other one, and all that DHTML makes my browser peevish.

Re: Lauren's post, paragraph by paragraph.
In the comic, he sews it himself, 'cause he's just that kind of pansy.
No, no, and no she doesn't. And that's all I have to say about that.
Agreed.
PS. As I stated in my own blog, I found the plot rather predictable but almost everything else very well done.

My question is, where did Spiderman get his cool costume? I mean, one second he's got his crappy-ass fan boy-style get up, then he looks at the costume design again, then he's got his hella cool new suit. Where did that come from? Well, I guess there are many, many instances where the story doesn't really add up. I can only imagine Harry discovering that his dad is not only dead, but got bludgeoned in the balls. That's a classic right there.
As for Kirsten Dunst, well, let's just say she needs a bra. And a skirt that doesn't have a 6 inch slit in the front. And she needs to not wear coats that are longer then the aforementioned skirts. And that's all I have to say about that.
To her credit, the saddest part of the movie was the last scene, but it's not so bad when you know that there is going to be a sequel.

The sheer emotion of joining this blog has just completely overwhelmed me... I'm speechless...
Yeah right. As if I ever am at a loss for words. Maybe it won't be too intelligent, but I always seem find something to say.
I have just spent all freakin' morning studying for that damn APUSH exam, so I'm going to take a break and bestow some thoughts on you. Last night I saw Spider-man with Steve and his sister and I think I speak for all of us when I say that it was a lot of fun. The movie was a blast, Tobey Maguire was looking hot and I found out Steve talks through movies almost as much as I do (which is a good thing). Steve's sis looks just like him and makes all these Steve-esque facial expressions... it's quite fascinating. And for those of you wondering if I'm leaving something unsaid, well, maybe I am. Forgive me for having some hesitations about being a little *too* honest here. Maybe they'll subside after a few posts. And if you don't know what I'm talking about well... just ask me in private and maybe I'll tell you. Maybe.
I'm starting to stress about all this end-of-year crap already. Between AP exams, regular exams, finishing my art projects, dance and everything else I have to worry about, I am beginning to feel the onset of hysteria. Like this morning, I woke up, came downstairs and things just started bothering me. My sister was yelling at me about leaving the milk out last night, my mom was trying to get me to admit to leaving a mirror out (which I didn't), my dad was reading the comics when I wanted them, my sister was sitting in my sit in the kitchen and I couldn't get the fan to turn off in the living room. In reality, all of these things are stupid and mean nothing, but I got so irritated I thought I was going to start pounding someone, most likely my sister. I had just woken up and already I was on edge. I've chilled out now.
I guess there are so many things in my life that are on the verge of being decided right now, so I'm being too sensitive to everything. But, hey, it'll all work out. Well, it probably won't *all* work out, but I'll get through it alive. *crosses fingers*
So, what I am saying, more or less, is that I want a massage, a hot guy to make out with (who was that guy who's a good kisser, Linda?) and a tub of Betty Crocker icing. Is that just too much to ask for? Of course not! ; )
